Natural Yoghurt

A smooth, creamy yoghurt made from pure sheep’s milk, healthy active cultures and nothing else. Sheep produce highly nutritious milk that naturally makes premium cheeses and yoghurts. Ligurian Bee Honey Yoghurt

Our Natural Yoghurt is blended with the famous Kangaroo Island Ligurian bee honey to make this luxurious yoghurt. Sheep produce highly nutritious milk that naturally makes premium cheeses and yoghurts. Island Pure has taken this special milk, incorporated the Island’s famous Ligurian bee honey and used a simple, traditional Mediterranean recipe to create this premium Greek style yoghurt.  The thick, creamy texture and fine, smooth taste make it great on its own as a healthy snack or served with fresh fruit and muesli as a nutritious breakfast.

Du Couedic
[ KEFALOTIRI ]

This creamy, piquant and lightly zesty cheese is perfect with a slice of sourdough, on bruschetta or in moussaka and spanakopita This cheese takes its name from the Island’s famous South West Cape. Aged for 6 months, the Du Couedic is a creamy white, semi-matured, Greek style cheese with a vanilla aroma and smooth finish.

Cassini
[ MANCHEGO ]

This buttery, smooth and richly flavoured cheese is great by itself or crumbled over risotto, pasta or paella. Named after Cape Cassini on the North Coast of Kangaroo Island, this cheese has a bite that has claimed many a shipwreck. Aged for 3-6 months, the Cassini has a nutty, buttery flavour and a smooth texture. Creamier than its Spanish cousin, try it on a cheese platter or through your favourite Mediterranean dish.

Ravine Des Casoars
[ HALOUMI ]

Lightly barbecue, grill or pan-fry this cheese to reveal its luxurious silky texture, mild but tangy flavour and pleasant, salty finish. Much like this cheese, a little effort reveals something special at this beautiful west coast ravine, named after the unique Kangaroo Island Emu (Baudin mistook them for Cassowary!).  Great with a squeeze of lemon, on your favorite bruschetta or tossed through a salad.

Le Casuarinas
[ FETA ]

Lightly salted, creamy and tangy, this handmade feta is perfect in your favorite salad or pasta. It's also delicious mixed with olive oil and herbs and served with crusty bread. The Casuarinas, named after one of the first ships to explore Kangaroo Island, are wild, salty islets off the South West Cape. Our Greek-style feta exhibits a similar salty and tangy edge, perfect to add that authentic Mediterranean touch to your dish.

Cygnet
[ SEMI-MATURED MANCHEGO ] 

To create the Cygnet we take our young manchego cheese, form it into large rounds and carefully age them for about 9 months until they develop a natural rind which contributes to the cheese's flavour. The Cygnet is our premium cheese and has a deliciously creamy, buttery texture and lightly honeyed, lingering finish.  It is perfect with quince paste, crusty bread and a full-bodied red. The Cygnet celebrates the Island’s original food bowl, The Cygnet Valley. This fertile valley is our home and the source of our cheeses’ earthy, rich flavour.  Serve at room temperature with a great Island drop!

Labneh

There’s Labneh, then there is sheep milk labneh! Labneh is a traditional, Middle Eastern cheese and is made from strained yoghurt . Soft, white and spreadable, it has the consistency of cream cheese,  the tang of yoghurt and a slightly lemony taste. Highly versatile, it can be used in both savoury and sweet dishes, makes a beautiful spread or swirl it through your favorite soup or curry.
